Child Care Program

Nurturing Hope, Ensuring Dignity for Every Child with Disabilities

The Disabled Development Society (DDS) believes that every child, regardless of physical, sensory, or intellectual ability, deserves love, care, protection, and opportunity. In response to the unique needs of children with disabilities, DDS has launched a dedicated Child Care Program aimed at supporting their holistic development—physically, emotionally, and socially.

This program focuses on children from poor, marginalized, and vulnerable families who often face neglect, lack of access to education, healthcare, and opportunities for play or personal development. The program works directly with both children and their families to ensure a safe, nurturing environment and meaningful inclusion in all aspects of life.

Program Objectives

  • Provide early childhood care and development support for children with disabilities.
  • Ensure access to inclusive pre-primary and primary education.
  • Promote health and nutritional well-being through regular checkups and nutrition support.
  • Train parents and caregivers on special care techniques and inclusive parenting.
  • Create safe spaces where children can learn, play, and grow without discrimination.

Key Activities

  • Day Care Support: Safe and accessible centers where children receive basic care, guided play, early learning, and social interaction.
  • Therapy & Health Services: Physiotherapy, speech therapy, and regular health checkups for children with developmental delays or physical impairments.
  • Nutritional Assistance: Distribution of balanced meals and nutrition supplements to address malnourishment and stunted growth.
  • Parent Training Sessions: Empowering families with knowledge on disability management, behavior support, and child rights.
  • Child Protection Workshops: Creating awareness on preventing abuse, neglect, and exploitation of disabled children.
  • Inclusive Learning Materials: Distribution of customized educational tools such as Braille books, tactile games, and visual aids.

Impact

  • Improved physical and emotional development in children with disabilities.
  • Increased school enrollment and learning readiness among DDS-supported children.
  • Strengthened family bonding and parenting capacity in caring for disabled children.
  • Reduced isolation and stigma through regular community engagement and awareness.

Future Plan

DDS plans to expand the Child Care Program through mobile daycare units in rural areas, establish inclusive early learning centers, and develop partnerships with government and NGOs to scale the model nationally.

The Child Care Program reflects DDS’s unwavering commitment to building a society where every child, regardless of ability, has the foundation to lead a life of dignity, joy, and promise. Through care, compassion, and community support, DDS is nurturing futures—one child at a time.
