Financial Support Program of DDS: Empowering Lives through Economic Inclusion

The Disabled Development Society (DDS) strongly believes that financial independence is key to dignity and self-reliance—especially for people with disabilities and marginalized communities. To bridge the economic gap and reduce dependency, DDS implements a targeted Financial Support Program that assists its beneficiaries in building sustainable livelihoods and meeting basic survival needs.

This program is designed to support disabled individuals, distressed families, widows, and ultra-poor households, helping them overcome economic hardship and become active contributors to society.

Key Areas of the Financial Support Program:

  • Small Grants and Start-up Capital
DDS provides one-time financial assistance or revolving funds to disabled individuals for initiating small businesses such as grocery shops, tailoring, handicrafts, poultry farming, goat rearing, or mobile phone servicing.
  • Interest-Free Microcredit
For eligible disabled entrepreneurs and self-help group members, DDS offers interest-free loans with flexible repayment terms to start or expand income-generating activities. The program ensures that no one is denied opportunity due to lack of collateral or ability to pay interest.
  • Emergency Financial Aid
DDS provides direct financial assistance during emergencies—such as accidents, health crises, fires, or natural disasters—to help disabled and poor individuals cope with sudden economic shocks.
  • Educational Support for Children with Disabilities
Under this scheme, DDS offers scholarships, school supplies, and transportation allowances to disabled children from low-income families, ensuring that financial hardship does not prevent access to education.
  • Women Empowerment Fund
Special support is allocated for women with disabilities or those from extremely poor backgrounds, helping them gain vocational skills and financial independence through home-based or group enterprises.

Implementation & Monitoring:

  • Applications are assessed by DDS’s field officers and reviewed by the executive committee.
  • Beneficiaries receive training on basic financial literacy, budgeting, and savings.
  • Regular follow-up visits ensure proper utilization of funds and provide mentorship.
  • Community involvement ensures transparency and accountability.

This financial support program helps transform dependency into empowerment, allowing DDS beneficiaries not just to survive, but to thrive with confidence, purpose, and economic stability.
